Re: nintendo wii
The Nintendo Wii is aimed at a completely different market than that of the 360 and the PS3. Rather than aiming at hardcore gamers and perhaps coming in second place, Nintendo have opted to aim at those who aren't really into gaming and offer them an incentive to join the gaming community with friendly, easy gaming.
Besides, I don't think you've grasped the fact that the Nintendo Wii has been the fastest selling console from launch. The demand is so great that it has been out of stock until just recently.
On top of that, Sony's PS3 is currently the worst seller of the lot of them and doesn't offer enough killer apps for gamers with a 360 to switch over. The ridiculous price tag is the final nail in the coffin.
Also, Waleed, improve your grammer. I find it hard to believe that you speak English on a day to day basis.

Re: nintendo wii
The Wii is like doing exercise? Yes, bad exercise. It wont make you fitter. Lots of doctors are worried bout people with repatative strain injury, kinda like teniss players elbow. Bad joints for us all! Joy...

Re: nintendo wii
It is similar to doing exercise Dr Fat but it isnt an alternative. The console encourages the user to actively move his or her body to achieve some function within the gaming environment. This movement causes the user to use up energy and also burn some fat. As with all types of excercise continous repetitive movement causes strain so even with the Nintendo Wii you shouldn't think that you should play for excessive amounts of time but you cant say that playing with the Wii is bad for you either Dr Fat.
Re: nintendo wii
As a person who actually has a Wii, let me tell you that the level of exercise depends on the title. I found Wii boxing to be surprisingly tiring. Something along the lines of Wii Golf however, isn't much exercise.
One thing to note is that the killer-app for the Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, doesn't even need to use the Wiimote.
Yes, it does sound gimmicky, waving a remote around to play, but let the figures stand. Nintendo Wii has outsold PS3 at a ratio of 5:1.

Re: nintendo wii
I quite like the idea of the Wii, I just cant afford one. It seems to be a console thats, well, just fun. The other stuff like ps3 and Xbox 360 seems to be huge entertainment machines, but the Wii looks like its just about having some fun with some games. And after all, isn't that what games consoles are about?

Re: nintendo wii
The big boys, Sony and Microsoft, have gone and decided to reestablish what a games console should be...yes these consoles are better in graphics and are more powerfull and yes I like this but where is the fun? Games consoles used to be fun and simple to use. They did one thing, play games but now Microsoft and Sony have decided to maybe try to appeal to the hardest to please gamer of them all, the PC gamer! I am a PC gamer at heart and have always found console games to be lacking in some part but now they are coming with graphics that are rivalling the best PC capabilities and they can also do alot of the operations that the PC can. The problem with having all this capability in a gaming console is that the price goes up, well atleast for the PS3 it has sky rocketed! Now we can use our consoles to send e-mails, surf the internet and well do the things we used to do on our desktop computers. I dont know if this is a good idea but time will tell.

Re: nintendo wii
Yeah, the "play" station isnt really all about playing anymore. You're right, we'll just have to wait and see but I dont think anyone will take a step back to making consoles just about games again. Maybe they'll release 2 types of consoles, like the ps-wannabe-pc and the ps-games thing. Maybe not as bad as an attempt as the ps3 20gb though...
Big things are all fine and well for us, but as a kid first getting into gaming it can all be a bit much. Good on the Wii.

Re: nintendo wii
Abdul, what games would you be getting on the Wii?
Let me warn you, as it is now, there isn't much worth spending money on (the same could be said of all the new consoles).

Re: nintendo wii
Hmm... well right now, the best games on Wii are ports but that doesn't stop them from being good.
Zelda Twilight Princess is pretty good, and also there's Resident Evil 4 (if you haven't played that on the PS2 or the gamecube).
One game I've been enjoying with my brother is Mario Strikers - a Mario themed football game. It's more fun than it sounds, trust me .
However, the Wii's killer app has yet to be released - Super Smash Bros Brawl. I'm really looking forward to that

Re: nintendo wii
To anyone, is that mario football game a structured adventure game in which you have to play games in the process or is it just a game where you play random football games by yourself/with friends? or is it something quite different? My brother and i just bought the wii and the one game we have bought is the new zelda, which, to be honest, is not the greatest decision I have made. I find that the quests which you have to do are quite original and slightly boring. That's why i'm interested in buying this new mario game, which alot of people (and yes waleed including you...) have suggested was quite fun.
