Because many people haven't switched over to Vista yet, and have no intention to? Because XP itself is still very glitchy and many people will be using XP for years to come? I don't see the problem since they still release updates for Windows 98 on their official website. |

| Vista is supposed to be an improvement on windows xp. There are things about vista that are better than xp. One of the main reasons for the system being buggy is the fact that everything has been designed for windows xp upto recently. Vista isnt compatable with all of these programs/drivers etc. Vista is a supposed improvement upon xp and therefore will be different from xp in the way it runs therefore you will have problems with backward compatability. The best thing to do is to wait until xp is phased out as the main microsoft OS and vista takes its place. At that point I think I will buy an original copy of Vista . One thing you will never get rid of though is random crashing etc with a Microsoft OS and if you really dont like it then you may aswell opt for a Linux OS instead then. |

Apparantly, from what I understand, Windows Vista is designed with gaming/video editing/heavy cpu usage in mind. One thing I have seen is that it features connectivity with the Xbox 360, which I think is some kind of joke because 1 - It's a blatant rip-off from Nintendo's connectivity 2 - Who on earth would buy a pricey OS just to connect to their console?
Utterly ridiculous

| | Windows is / has always been / will always be a piece of crap. Move to Linux for a secure, robust and flexible OS. Ubuntu is apparently quite easy to use. Dell are making some of their pcs available with Linux Ubuntu pre-installed on them. |

| | Oh sorry, just understood what Xel'lotath was saying, having just put Linux onto my ps3. I think having an OS on my console is kinda cool, cus of course im still gonna use my pc, but its the family pc so I cant really take it away to uni or use it when someone else in the family is on (im the youngest thus botoom of the pecking order). I think its a cool move foreward, like when cameras got attatched to phones. 2 random unrelated things, but see how it caught on. I think having "entertainment hubs" and integrating everything is kinda cool. |

* warning *straying a little off topic
I always thought putting cameras into phones was a stupid Idea and I still think its a stupid idea today this is a prime example of an industry forcing upon us a concept that was never really wanted by the consumer. Now most of the latest phones have cameras we have become accustomed to it but I hate it when they force things like this unto us. Hmm Microsoft Office 2007 is another thing that we really didnt actually need (was happy with 2003) |
