| Before the PS3 section goes horribly off-topic, I'm moving all talk of old gaming heroes here.
To get started - my first video game was Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Master System, so naturally I've always preferred Sonic over Mario (even if they try too hard to make Sonic cool nowadays).
BUT! My favourite gaming hero (sort of) of all time will always be Silver from Pokemon G/S/C

| I think one of my favourite characters of gaming has to be Sonic. I never owned a Sega Master System but remember going to my uncles house and seeing him play many times . I was amazed at how fast paces the game was and loved the soundtrack to the levels from it. I went on to watch the cartoon of sonic but they were never able to match the coolness of sonic from the game! 
Too bad sonic games now a day cant match the original
